RESIDENCE IN KENTUCKY/TENNESSEE IN THE 19TH CENTURY

MAP

Acree and Skipworth pioneers moved from North Carolina to Tennessee in the early 19th century and settled in the western Kentucky/Tennessee border area, marrying into other families who had migrated to this area, which extended to southern Indiana counties bordering Kentucky. Our ancestors lived in the following places, shown on the enlarged map below, with approximate years of residence - dating from a couple's arrival at a location or marriage there. Some moves are detailed, but complexity has been minimized by focusing on primary residences - usually where most of their children were born.
